Adam and Eve's punishment

The easy way is to believe the Truth, God's Word, then you don't have to learn the hard way!

God gives us the opportunity to learn the easy way by obeying what we're told, even if we don't always know why. But if we insist on learning the hard way, God is a good Father and in His Mercy and His Love He will let us go ahead and learn by our mistakes!

God allowed Adam and Eve to go ahead and disobey and to learn by bitter experience what they wouldn't learn the easy way, by teaching, by the Word, or by being told. And when they went ahead and ate of the forbidden tree, God had to apply the rod and we've suffered for it ever since! (Gen.3; Rom.5:12) But through it all, the bitter experience of Adam and Eve, all their descendants, including us, have learned by comparison the difference between obedience and disobedience. We've learned the rewards of obedience and the consequences of disobedience.

"ALL things work together for good to them that love the Lord!" (Rom.8:28) Even our mistakes are not unprofitable as long as we learn by them! At least we don't very easily forget the lessons we learn that way! So help us, Lord, to follow the easy path of obedience to the Truth of Your Word!
