The good Samaritan helping the Jew.

Love is an obligation!

Jesus said the first and greatest commandment is to love--to "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and the second is like unto it", it's almost equal, "thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." (Mat.22:36-40) Those He was speaking to then asked Him, "Who is my neighbour?" And with the story of the Good Samaritan, He tried to show them that it is anyone who needs your help. If we have real love, we cannot face a needy situation without doing something about it. We can't just pass by the poor man on the road to Jericho! We must take action like the Samaritan did. (Lk.10:25-37) Love is making a connection like that from God to somebody who needs His Love. We should show His real Love and manifest it by genuine proving action!

Jesus said, "Even as My Father hath sent Me, so send I you." (Jn.20:21) He says this still to His followers of today, call-ing them to give their lives daily in loving concern and care for others, to share His heart and Love. He came to love the World, and He calls us to do likewise in every facet of life, in every way, to give them love in Jesus' name!
